Before I stated that our lives were of our own creation – that everything we take into our own hands, that every event is shaped by our actions. Everything in this world is a result of what we choose to do. Because of this, we must take life and seize the day. Also, I would like to add the indeed our attitude does have something to do with our happiness (Luke’s anecdote). But I would also like to address “fate,” because not everything in our life we can control. So how much can we?

I have this wonderful book: How to Become Rediculously Well-Read in One Evening. The book is a compilation of the world’s greatest literature – the abridgeed version. As in, people make short little poems that basically summarize the plots of the book. Since we’re reading The Canterburry Tales, I thought I might post these:

Career? September 28, 2006

So, I’m a junior in high school. This means next year, I’ll be a senior… and thus begin applying for colleges. So, this brings up an interesting question – what are my career goals? Should I actually have any?

So far, my career goal is to do something I enjoy – and hopefully something I can do. This crosses out chemistry and physics in both points. Just to clear that up.

But I’ve decided it’s too early to make any career choices. It all seems like a stupid thing to do. I don’t know why some people commit so early to a career. Maybe its because of parents, or peers. But people are subject to change. What’s to say that what you want to do right now is because of some misconception of that field? I say that you should have all information at hand before commiting – and I don’t have that. My education has been limited. I’m going to wait until college to decide… meaning I’m not going to that M.I.T. school or Caltech or those schools… Just to clear that up too.

Psychological Experiment September 26, 2006

Throughout history, many hypotheses have been made on the roles and differences of men and women: as if the simple gender of a person affected his/her life to a certain extent. For example, men tend to have more understanding of spacial elements while women tend to have more understanding of verbal/linguistic skills. In your view, do you think that psychologically women and men are naturally different? And if so, in what ways?
