On School Dances

School dances probably cause more drama in a life than any other event. This is true. There are two major dances that cause the most drama: HD (Homecoming Dance) and P. Thus, students often in the beginning of the year feel HDD (Homecoming Dance Drama) and then at the end of the year feel PD (Prom Drama).

Dances are are fun, though! Despite the large amount of drama caused by the dance, the dance itself is fun. Lot’s of music. What is common in big dances is the formation of several DCs (Dance Circles). These circles often consist of five or more people. Even more often, only one person per DC can actually dance. All other members either mimick the DC “leader” or pretend to dance.

That’s high school for you: appearances. Much like the idea of appearances that arose in the Renaissance. Everything about high school is about appearances. Thus, when you appear to be knowing what your doing, people think you’re smart. Or, in this case, if you have the appearance of dancing, then you’re dancing.

Much of the source of school dance drama is caused by asking somebody to go with you. Well, to remedy this, go stag. You won’t look like a loser, don’t worry. However, if you wish to go with somebody… then go. The more you think about it, then the more nervous you get. Ask, don’t think. High school dances aren’t necessarily about thinking, that causes too much drama.
