I do not say the pledge at school, and there are various reasons. Here are the five main ones.

  1. I will not say the pledge until it becomes accepted that I omit the words “under God” from the pledge. In fact, everybody should omit the words. They were tacked onto the pledge during a war to scare the enemy.
  2. Last week on 9/11, President Bush gave an address. Instead of being a memoriam of people lost on that day, he went on a political justification of the War in Iraq!
  3. I do not support the War in Iraq
  4. The United States of America under the presidency of George W. Bush is not and never will be the United States of America I will pledge my allegiance to.
  5. It’s usually too early in the morning to say the pledge…

I think that people are missing the big message that we shouldnt say the pledge because we are told to say it every single morning and so it loses its meaning of patriotism, not because it might offend an athiest or someone else, and atleast at my school you have a choice wether to say it or not, but i believe that if your smart enough to keep an open mind on life and believe there is no god, than your smart enough not to get upset about a stupid pledge of allegiance
