so i’m gonna be leaving to the east coast tomorrow, and i’m not sure how much i’ll be updating there. so as you may have noticed, everybody else is going to italy as i go to the east coast. and they seem to have some great stories. but i have a couple of stories before i go.
let’s see… yesterday… at about 9 o’clock i left with a few people to the hot springs. so what do five teenagers do when their nude at the hot springs? uhhh… we listened to three nude hippies rant a load of crap about life and totem poles and 100 monkey theories and crap like that, oh and something about how tripping on acid would help us understand our lives (something about fractals). it was kind of annoying because he kept pulling these bullshit examples and random logic, and the guy with the dreadlocks just sort of started talking though he had no idea what was going on, and the girl was just annoying in general. they were all sort of pretentious as if they knew everything about life. i don’t know, maybe if you sit nude at the hot springs all your life you start to understand life. the experience was pretty cool actually. i want to write my memoir on it! okay… maybe not. definitely something i will remember though.
that’s all that has happened to me that’s interesting… other than that i’ve listened to tons of the rolling stones. and i’ve also been watching some anime! i’ve been watching death note and paranoia agent. both are these sort of psychological thriller type shows. death note is an incredibly creative cat and mouse chase between a mass murderer and a detective. and then paranoia agent is… it’s… well… i can’t quite figure out what it is but the plot is pretty engrossing. it’s really creepy though.
Italy: We made it (barely) to London May 29, 2007

Writing a quick note from London-Gatwick. After substantial excitement (including cutting several lines, sweet-talking various airline employees and letting Afsheen argue with gate managers), we’ve reached London. It’s been a rather exciting journey as of yet, but given I’m writing from a “pay per minute” internet access point, I can’t tell the story in its entirety.
Got time for one story (19 minutes and 8 seconds to go on the internet access):
After missing our connecting flight to London, we managed to get on the waitlist for a later flight to London. Although the list was 60 people long, we all managed to get assigned seats; unfortunately, seats distributed evenly throughout the plane. As the plane boarded, it become clear that although moderately full, there would still be several empty seats. The enterprising eye of Paco spotted a bulk-head row, with unlimited footroom. After many smiles and charming hand gestures, Paco claimed the row, allowing Colin and Afsheen to join him. Upon reaching his seat, Afsheen decided it important to cement his relationship with the flight attendant and proceeded to offer “hugs and kisses.” Note, Afsheen was also offering kisses to Paco, who had scored the seats, and Colin, who had simply sat next to him.
Eventually, the seating was rearranged so we could sit together in two “blocks,” one with legroom, the other one without.
Hope everyone is well! Miss you all!

so i haven’t been posting. and that would be because school just got out. you honestly don’t expect me to have time to post when school just gets out do you? i mean, how could i? i’ve been out having fun! it’s summer! i’m not gonna stay cooped up in my room blogging! but… i feel obligated to update at least once in a while. i mean, the last post was thursday. so friday was fun – i hung out with luke and watched 7 straight episodes of the simpsons…. then played 2 and a half straight hours of halo when other people came… then at night went to calvin’s house and watched lucky number s7evin. and uhh… saturday morning was graduation and i was a “junior honor escort” it was boring. i was standing there thinking they’re only on the e’s… because i had to hand stuff out. and then after graduation i spent an hour being a seven-year-old kid getting piggy-back rides and hugging people and taking pictures. it makes me sad that all these people are graduating… they’re all gone now… well, maybe not all but most of them i won’t talk to again. at night was senior appreciation night. i know, i’m a junior (a senior now!!) so i probably shouldn’t be going. but i stole one of the tickets for it while i was handing them out. and even if i didn’t i could have asked luke to have me be his guest anyway. there was no way i wasn’t going… it was so much fun! i rode a mechanical bull!! and i climbed the climbing wall and made it to the top on the hard part of the wall (the one that’s horizontal for a bit)!! yeah i had to lie about my age and say i was 18 for both of them… but it didn’t really matter. in fact, the volunteers checking the forms knew that i wasn’t 18. whatever. and i played some pool! and ping-pong! with paddles that don’t put any spin on the ball so that sucked…. and i played foosball! and there was the street carnival! and i won prizes!! and i went rollerskating!! and there was free food everywhere! and i played raquetball! and handball! and i felt like a seven-year-old!! and i got a piggy-back ride from the lodge to the senior center! and… i actually wanted to stay for the free movie but i couldn’t. they were showing shrek 3… anyhow, that’s why i haven’t been posting.
school’s out!! May 25, 2007

yay! today school’s out! well… officially at anyrate. technically it was out yesterday for me because i didn’t have any class today. so everybody listen to alice cooper’s school’s out in celebration! if you want, you can watch the new pirates movie. i don’t understand why movies like pirates 3 or spiderman 3 do so well in box offices. our american society seems to thrive on crappy movies.
so afterschool today we had a video game party!! woo! we had a ps2 and an xbox and a gamecube! so we played ssbm, and guitar hero (which i am now incredibly addicted to, and first day playing and i can now get more than 80% on medium, but still around only 50 on hard), and halo (which i am becoming mediocre-ly good at). it was loads of fun. it was also tons of people. let’s see we had the pedestrians, and i had invited luke (who in turn invited george for the sole purpose of halo and his sister), and afsheen invited anna who invited fifty more people and then there were julie and kelsey and marina. it was loads of fun though! and we played apples to apples which was pretty fun. a cool and somewhat interesting fact: while i was playing guitar heroes and sort of listening to the cards played in apples to apples i somehow knew exactly which ones luke played. oh! and there was a trampoline! and that was fun! yay! school’s out!

so… recently i’ve been in this fuck-the-world attitude. probably because i’ve had this mild insomnia over the last month and haven’t got much sleep, and i think i did something to my rib or something cuz it hurts like hell, among other things. not much has really happened. i got my memoir back. i got minus 13.5 (out of 250, so no big deal) for word choice because i had some profanity. but other than that she loved my “interesting and unique” memoir. as i said, i’m in this fuck-the-world attitude lately. though i did play some halo this afternoon with a few friends, and even though i suck at the game cuz i’ve only played it once before, it did cheer me up. i had fun. even though i absolutely suck at all first-person shooters that don’t have “metroid” in the title.
lately May 18, 2007

so i haven posted lately i guess. a lot has happened though. or at least, a lot has happened to me. believe, me, a lot. and it been hectic and crazy and chaotic. and of course above that i don’t really feel comfortable writing about most of it on this blog. so sorry, nothing interesting for you guys to read, because obviously my unrecorded life is amazingly interesting. so, a rundown of highlights that i am comfortable talking about? we got our yearbooks today. and i am slightly disappointed about it actually. mainly, i don’t like some of the fonts and especially some of the formatting (the formatting is really annoying actually), and there are typos off the wazoo. but i’m not complaining, it’s still pretty good. and the comments that people have signed aren’t lame! that’s the best part! and some of them are actually quite wonderful. actually, really only two are quite wonderful. oh, ap exams are over. almost, i have one more but that’s alternate, so i’m basically done. my essays rock by the way. i’m not allowed to talk about it for another twelve hours or something so that’s for tomorrow. oh, somewhat interesting: mr. l just got back from london and the first thing he says is “rufus wainwright has a concert this summer in santa fe” and something about how we’ll look into it tomorrow when i’m aiding for him. well, i was quite literally jumping with joy. i’ve also pretty much lost all my will to go through school. but on the upside, when not in school i’ve been spending some quality time with friends. isn’t that good? and on my attendance, for those who wonder… my attendance for the last two weeks is 10/23. shut up. spending that quality time with friends more than makes up for not going to class… i’m actually quite glad i have such an innocent demeanor that teachers never suspect a thing
little do they know…
ditching resolution May 16, 2007

so here’s my resolution: i’m only going to ditch euro thursday between now and the end of the year. i would ditch all of thursday but i want my yearbook and i want it signed. and since thursday really is the last day for me to get it signed by most people, i’m just going to go. we’re just really playing games in most of my classes anyway. and watching hamlet. maybe i’ll skip hamlet. no! i’m going to conjure up the will and only skip euro!!! i will!!
school is pointless May 16, 2007

i don’t actually feel like going to school anymore quite honestly. and actually, my attendance hasn’t been too great between ap exams and just ditching… but i honestly feel that after tomorrow’s english exam, i’m not going to show up until finals week. i just don’t feel like going to school at all. i’m tired of it. i mean, school is just so pointless now. we’re watching a cruddy movie in english, doing literally nothing in physics (we went hiking today which was nice), nothing in psych anymore, less than nothing in euro, and “learning” stuff i already know in calc. as if school wasn’t pointless to begin with, now it’s even more pointless. maybe i’ll develop some scruples between now and thursday, and if not i’ll at least go one last time on friday before finals week (just because i only have two classes friday anyway) and first period thursday, just because i want my yearbook.
me day May 15, 2007

ah! me day! and what an exciting day it has been! so first off, it is actually pretty close to 10 pm here, and i have a psych exam tomorrow, and i have yet to do any psych-related studying. well, i’m not actually too worried though. i’m pretty much amazing at that psych exam
that and the fact that it’s really easy. seriously, easy.
i know a rundown of my day is sort of lame blogging, but deal with it.
so the day. i got up late-ish and drove to school. i haven’t brought my backpack to school in a while, i’m not sure when i’m actually going to though… probably not for the rest of the year. english was boring, we watched hamlet, but the bad version of hamlet that has sort of fanatic acting. hamlet is insane. calc… i really wanted to just skip calc and i would have too if my math teacher hadn’t seen me just a little while on that day. but we learned something that i already knew cuz of the calc bc studying that i did. and then school was out. yes!! (ok, not quite.) well luke and i sort of drove around… we first went to the coffee booth for a smoothie. a pretty good smoothie actually. and then we went to the pond, it started raining so we went into starbucks. i always seem to end up in starbucks. and we met up with paco and calvin there. and then!! the ap physics exam!! yay!! except for the fact that we started at 1… and it didn’t get out until 5, it was okay. it was long as hell but it was okay. i’m really confident on mechanics and e&m i did pretty well on. and then from there luke, chris and i went to quiznos, and then the movies, and i actually did a lot of driving today cuz we decided to take my car which is sort of weird but oh well. we watched… fracture. it is the only good movie at the theaters right now. so if you want to watch a movie at the theaters, watch fracture. it’s pretty good. i think it could have been better, the plot could have been refined. i mean, they could have left out the whole two-firms thing or minimized it a little. all and all though, it was pretty good. and so 9:20 i got home. and now it’s nearing 10 and i should go to sleep early-ish and maybe review psych stuff.
that was a sort of boring day but i liked it. it was a pretty great day. i mean, for a monday it was amazing!
