Blender 2.43 January 31, 2007

So, this is something which will probably only interest me. But I think it’s awesome. The next version (2.43) of the wonderful program Blender 3D will contain something called sculpt tools. They let you use the mouse to shape your model like clay; click and drag to pull part of it out or push it in. You can even paint physical textures directly onto it.

Click “more” and get a look at what can be done with this…

I downloaded 2.43 to try it. I have to say, it’s ridiculously easy even for me to create very detailed things. A bit of practice with this, and who knows what’s possible. Even my incompetent modeling skills were able to make this in just a day:
